I self-studied for Contract, Criminal and Public Law modules but became disappointed with the grades I achieved for these modules. I sought help and came across Dr. S’ webpage that promised the help I needed. After becoming her student, Dr. S provided the guidance and instructions that not only showed me what the University looks for in exams, but she also introduced me to the realistic expectations surrounding the study of law, and real-world application of legal principles.
Her methods, unlike rote learning, is coupled with practice exam questions and encourages critical anslyses and simple, and coherent writing. I am immensely grateful for becoming her student and for obtaining two of my recent exam results as a result.

I am happy to say that I received a high 2:1 in Jurisprudence in the October 2024 assessment. Dr. Serene’s guidance was an immense help in obtaining this grade. This would’ve ever been possible without her guidance, tutelage and care. Through her feedback, I realized that Jurisprudence is really not about memorizing a legal theory. I believe that understanding the exam question and providing your own analysis of what the different jurists say what the law is/is not/ought to be, how they are similar/different and which jurist’s view you agree with and why (i.e., your voice) is essential. I spent too much time focusing on individual theories but, thankfully, Dr Serene helped me discover the interesting aspect in this module, i.e., legal theories’ practical application in real cases across various jurisdictions.
